Nearly every day in the late afternoon the Sierra Madre blows clouds over a mountain near the house. The only way I can think do describe how it looks is an avalanche. Don Salomon and Doña Mery have been living here in Uspantán for about 30 years, and only once have they been to a restaurant here. Today Don Salomon told me that he had an errand for us to do, but wouldn't tell me what it was. We got in the car and drove off. We had hamburgers and french fries for lunch. They took me out for a surprise American lunch. It was really special. The food was great too.
